Cars for Kids - Comparison Tests

About 1905, when it became apparent that this new invention called the automobile would probably hang around for a while, versions of Daddy’s new car began being built for kids.

By 1907, the slick Elite Junior, a little car built by Standard Auto Supply and Manufacturing of New York, was selling for $200, an enormous sum for a child’s plaything. Power came from winding up a spring that projected out the rear of the car. Lots of cheap kids’ cars, costing less than $10, were around — the Green Auto Racer, the Speed King, and the Big Racer, all of which resembled Model Ts. Read the rest of this entry »

Every state in the United States has made auto insurance mandatory. It is of utmost importance to ensure you know all the rules and regulations written by a state before your drive in the state. Any violation can pout your and other families in danger. Auto insurance has been made mandatory for a simple reason. If a driver is on the road and causes an accident, he must be able to take responsibility for the accident and pay for all the damages he caused. Now the auto insurance company can pay for any damages he might cause. This is in accordance with the tort system of rules.

Every state fixes a minimum amount, known as the minimum liability that a person has to be insured for. The state of Maryland has also fixed a minimum amount. It is of the form 20/40/15. This stands for a minimum of twenty thousand dollars to pay for any bodily injuries a person might suffer due to the accident and a total of forty thousand dollars in total for bodily injuries covering two persons. It also includes a mandatory fifteen thousand dollars for property damage. This will cover damages caused to the victim’s car including any repair and replacements. It will also cover any damages caused to buildings fences and lamp posts.

However, apart from the minimum liability the state of Maryland has also made uninsured motorist’s coverage mandatory. Uninsured motorist’s coverage is used when a person is involved in an accident with a person who is not covered by insurance as per law. This ensures that you will be paid money even in case the other driver is not insured.

The minimum amount for uninsured motorist’s coverage is the same as minimum liability, twenty thousand dollars for bodily injury per person, forty thousand dollars for bodily injury in total and fifteen thousand dollars for property damage. The state of Maryland has also made PIP or Personal Injury Protection mandatory. Personal Injury protection is used to pay for any lost wages and other damages caused if you are injured in the accident that you have caused. Minimum liability will pay for the other person’s lost wages. PIP will ensure you will be paid too.

The state of Maryland has a lot more mandatory insurance coverage policies than other states. This is due to the fact that Maryland roads are some of the most congested in the nation. The roads run close to Baltimore and Washington making the amount of traffic high. This justifies the large amounts of mandatory insurance coverage policies.

Other insurance policies include underinsured motorist’s coverage. This is used when a person is involved in an accident with a person who is insured but not for the adequate amount. Medical costs coverage will cover all of your medical bills as bodily injury will only cover the victim’s bill. Property damage coverage includes comprehensive and collision damage. Comprehensive will pay for any damage caused to your car due to hail, rain and snow. It will also pay for damages due to theft and vandalism. Collision pays for damage caused to the car of the person responsible for the accident.

How You Can Get the Best Car Insurance Rates for Students

Age does matter when it comes to the rate of the car insurance they are to get. The younger the driver the higher premium rate would be given to him/her. Car insurance companies are not being unfair in this matter.

All their decisions about what rate to give to their customers are all based on research findings and studies. Since auto insurance providers work with risk assessment, the more risky you are considered as a driver the higher premium rate will be given to you. Unfortunately for students they are automatically considered as high risks thus their insurance costs a lot.

Studies suggest that people who are below 25 years of age tend to be more involved in car accidents which mean more insurance claims thus insuring a student’s car would take a lot from the company. Young people as drivers lack experience and they tend to be inclined with risky behavior when driving.

How You Can Get the Best Car Insurance Rates for Students

It is not only being young that would make one pay serious amount for his/her insurance policy. If you are a male student then you have to pay more than female teens. Also since marital status is a factor that determines one’s insurance rate students being mostly single are bound to pay higher rates than married individuals.

There are many reasons why a car insurance provider offers higher rates for young drivers just because they are still students but this does not imply that one cannot land with a reasonable offer. Now that car insurance providers are scattered all over the United States competition made it possible for consumers to find the best offer that matches their budget.

It is a given fact that students will really get higher rates than other people do even if we find the best offer it will still cost us more than paying the policy of an individual who is 25 years or older. With this the best thing that we could do is to try to work on lowering what is sky high. There are several factors that can add up to this high premium rate not only for students but for everyone. First having a good credit record will save us from paying more than usual. Making a good driving record will also help. For students getting good academic grades can also open possibilities of having discounted rates. These are just some of the things students can do to somehow pull down their expensive insurance policy rates.

Bad credit? No Problem With A Bad Credit Car Loan

Bad credit? No problem with a bad credit car loan. These loans are exactly what they sound like, car loans for people with bad credit.

Bad credit car loans can help when you are in debt. Sometimes life gets the better of us and we fall a little behind on bill payments. This is not a desirable situation as the more debt we accumulate, the worse our credit rating gets. This makes purchasing certain items like a car or house a lot harder.

However, there are options such as car loans for people with bad credit. If you’re looking to purchase a car, you can get a bad credit car loan. A bad credit car loan is usually arranged by a private lender or dealership that works with a network of private lenders, offered to someone with an imperfect credit history, a low credit score, or a bankruptcy.

These loans tend to include higher interest rates and stringent payment rules for the borrower. It can be easier to get a bad credit car loan than some personal loans though. Should you default on the loan, the lender can claim the car back, whereas with a personal loan, the lender is left with his or her hand out.

How do you get a bad credit loan? First, you have to apply for one. Lenders who specialize in bad credit loans often have different options for people dealing with bad credit or have just come out of bankruptcy. A down payment will most likely be required or, alternatively, a trade-in of a vehicle that is already paid off or still has positive equity. Remember, these bad credut car loan lenders are interested in profits and are looking to minimize the risk they are taking with you. The more money you can provide up front, the more likely you will be approved for the loan.

Lenders will also need to know about other factors that might influence your ability to pay back the loan, such as your debt-to-income ration, your work history, and proof of residence. They may ask for personal references and pay stubs so they can verify your trustworthiness and income. Copies of your car insurance and drivers license may also be requested. If your credit is particularly bad, you may have to find someone to co-sign the loan with you. When you speak to the lender, be honest about what you can afford and how much you can put down. Together you can come to an amount that you’re both satisfied with.

If you do get approved, and chances are you will, be prepared to pay back the loan at a high interest rate. This is a consequence of having poor credit. Don’t worry too much though. Many lenders can put you in a program that lets you re-finance you loan at a lower interest rate after a one or two-year period. Once you start building up a history of good payments, your credit will improve.

If the scenerio above sounds familiar and you need a car, a bad credit car loan might be one way to help you get started on the road to good credit.
